Synopsis
A cousin of a tenant in a Mitchell-Lama apartment was denied succession rights because a cousin is not considered a traditional family member. Even though the cousin claimed a close relationship and took care of the apartment while the tenant lived out of state, the court found this did not meet the standard of emotional and financial interdependence required for non-traditional family members.
